We had a fantastic evening on Friday as guests joined Chef Ben Arthur from RockJam Spice for Fuego Latino, an exciting hands-on cooking experience filled with fresh flavours, fire and plenty of fun.
Guests got stuck into every part of the evening, from preparing their own taco fillings and seasoning chicken and halloumi for the barbecue, to crafting their own tacos from scratch and even shaking cocktails alongside Ben.
For the first time, we took one of our cookery classes outdoors, transforming the courtyard into an extension of our state-of-the-art cookery school. Guests were able to prepare and cook indoors before heading outside to fire up the barbecue, creating a relaxed and sociable atmosphere as the evening unfolded.
The aroma of sizzling chicken and halloumi filled the courtyard as guests cooked their food over the barbecue, while friends and family gathered around the tables to enjoy the evening together.
It was particularly lovely to see parents attending with their teenagers, who were eager to get involved, try something new and develop their cooking skills.
For many of our guests, the evening also provided a first opportunity to make tacos completely from scratch. Rather than reaching for shop-bought shells, they kneaded the dough, used a traditional taco press to shape their tortillas and then cooked them ready to fill with their freshly prepared ingredients.
The result was a fun and memorable evening that brought cooking out of the classroom and into the open air.
