15th May
Type of Course:
Our cook and chat evening classes are all about celebrating the approaching weekend and learning some new skills in the kitchen. Why not come along with a friend, colleague, partner or relative? Or come and meet new friends on the night. Classes provide an opportunity to chat, cook, perfect your skills in the kitchen and meet other people, under the watchful eye of an industry expert.
After a sell out event in February, we are excited to welcome back Natchaya Nak from My Mum Makes to teach authentic Thai cuisine at Truro School Cookery.
What to Expect
The evening begins with a canapé and a glass of fizz or non-alcoholic alternative on arrival. You’ll then take part in a cook-along session, preparing 3 dishes – a starter, a soup and main course to enjoy together with a glass of wine. Dessert will be prepared for you, allowing time to relax and enjoy the rest of the evening.
We change our recipes seasonally. This is a sample menu of the type of dishes you may enjoy:
Starter – Pork Larb
Main – Tom Kha Gai and Pad Thai
Meet Natchaya Nak
Natchaya grew up in Bangkok, surrounded by food and family, watching her mother run restaurants and learning the importance of patience, quality ingredients and traditional methods. In this hands-on class, she will guide you through the preparation of classic Thai dishes, sharing the skills and inspiration passed down through generations.
Natchaya says “My mum has been the best cook I know. Growing up in Bangkok, I watched her run her restaurants and learned how much care she put into every ingredient and method. She taught me patience at every step, and today I cook the way she did. I’d love to share my Thai food with you through my mum’s way of seeing it”.
