  • A Delicious Journey Through the Flavours of Thailand

    19 May

A group of enthusiastic guests joined Natchaya Nak from My Mum Makes on Friday evening for a fun, insightful and delicious journey through the flavours of Thailand.

Guests were welcomed by the irresistible aroma of freshly prepared Thai fishcakes, which Natchaya was deep frying as an arrival appetiser to enjoy alongside a glass of wine. With taste buds already awakened, the group gathered around the demonstration area to begin the evening’s first dish — a vibrant Pork Larb — before moving on to a comforting Tom Kha Gai soup and the ever-popular Pad Thai.

After each demonstration, guests returned to their individual workstations, working independently or in pairs to recreate the dishes themselves using fresh, pre-prepared ingredients carefully selected by Natchaya.

The evening was filled with laughter and conversation as Natchaya shared stories of her upbringing in Thailand, memories of her grandmother’s recipes, and the secret dried chillies that gave the Pad Thai its unforgettable flavour.

Portions were so generous that many guests were able to take leftovers home to share with family and friends. New friendships were formed as couples, colleagues and friends took time out from their busy schedules to relax, learn new skills, and experience the authentic tastes of Thailand together.

If you would like to see Natchaya in action, she will be appearing at Falmouth Food Festival this weekend. She will also be returning to Truro School Cookery on Friday 11 September for another popular Thai Night experience.
