The children were welcomed into the café by a beautifully prepared table filled with sprinkles, decorations, and plenty of inspiration. Each guest had their own apron and a cake to practise on—before enjoying their creations later!
With the ocean theme chosen by Clara, the session began with the children using moulds to create mermaid tails, shells, seahorses, and fish. Along the way, they learned the difference between fondant and modelling fondant, how to colour modelling paste, and how to carefully handle their delicate designs.
They then moved on to freehand modelling, crafting charming sea creatures such as crabs and whales, each with its own unique character. Next came decorating their cupcakes with buttercream, where the children explored different piping techniques, experimented with colours and nozzles, and finished their designs with sprinkles, sparkles, and even a touch of edible gold paint.
The creativity continued with biscuit decorating. The group learned how to cover shaped biscuits with fondant and add detail using piped royal icing, with textured rollers providing even more decorative possibilities.
A refreshing glass of bubble tea rounded off the session, and each child went home proudly carrying a box of six decorated cupcakes along with their beautifully finished biscuits.
